How To Redeem an Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or Nintendo Switch Gift Card

If you’re an avid gamer, there’s a good chance you got a gift card for your console for the holidays or as a gift. Being able to use that gift card doesn’t take much work, regardless of your platform.

Gift cards give your family something to wrap up or stick inside a hilarious card. The gift cards are available for specific games, downloadable content, online multiplayer, or just as cash for each of the digital stores. Then, you’ll be able to use those gift card funds to buy games and other content at any time.

How To Redeem an Xbox One Gift Card

Grab a coin, paperclip, or another piece of metal to scratch the coating off the back of the gift card. Next, go to your Xbox One, and open the Microsoft Store.

Next, navigate down with the left stick of the controller and select “Redeem a code.”

Enter the 25-digit code from the gift card, then select “Next.”

That’s it! Your game or other content will start downloading, or your funds will be available on your Microsoft Store account.

How To Redeem a PlayStation Network Gift Card

Redeeming a gift card is still easy as pie if Sony makes your console. Start by scratching the coating off the back of the gift card. Then, start up your PS4, and open the PlayStation Store.

Next, move down in the left-hand menu and select “Redeem Codes.”

Enter the 12-digit code from the gift card, then select “Continue.”

That’s it! Your content will be ready for you to download, or your funds will be available in your PlayStation Network account.

How To Redeem a Nintendo eShop Gift Card

The Nintendo Switch is fantastic because you can take it anywhere, but if you’re adding a gift card to your account, you’ll need to be somewhere that has Wi-Fi. With that done, you can scratch the coating off the back of the gift card. Next, open the Nintendo eShop on your Switch.

Next, move down in the left-hand menu until you reach “Enter Code.”

Enter the 16-digit code from the gift card, then select “OK.”

That’s it! Your game or other media will start downloading, or your funds will be ready to use in your eShop account.

Editor’s Note: All the codes used in this article are fake, so don’t waste your time trying to use them. 😉
